Four more dates for the free training session Introduction to Advocacy have been announced. The dates are as follows:
These half-day events, which will be held in Liverpool city centre, will explore how advocacy touches on all of our lives, and will include:
• An introduction to the concept of advocacy and of the various models
• The importance of independent advocacy and avoiding conflicts of interest
• An outline of how the Advocacy Rights Hub responds to the needs of all Liverpool people
These events will be useful to:
• People interested in getting involved in advocacy
• Service providers and commissioners
• Providers of advocacy related services, including Advice and Information, Faith and Community groups
Joe Monaghan will lead the training events. Joe is Chief Officer of the National Coalition of Advocacy Schemes and wrote ‘Citizens and Advocacy’, which outlines an Advocacy Plus approach.
